  1. How to get started

Firmware update of Units

Performing firmware updates on Central Units (CU) and bus devices is a crucial process to ensure optimal functionality and access to the latest features. The iDM3 software package is designed to streamline this process by providing a centralized platform for managing firmware updates.

Follow the steps below to successfully update firmware using the iDM3 software:

1. Launch iDM3 Software:

a. Open the iDM3 software on your PC or laptop.

b. Ensure that you have the latest iDM3 software package contains the latest firmware versions for all units.

c. Connect to the Central unit.

2. Navigate to Download Unit Firmware:

a. In the iDM3 program, navigate to the "Download Unit Firmware" option. This can usually be found in the dropdown menu.

b. Select the option to initiate the firmware update process.

3. Check Current Firmware Version:

a. Before initiating the update, check the current firmware version of the particular unit for which you want to perform the update.

b. The iDM3 software will display the available firmware versions of the selected unit.

4. Initiate Firmware Update:

a. Choose the unit for which you want to update the firmware.

b. From the available firmware versions, select the one you want to update to.

c. Confirm your selection to initiate the firmware update process.

5. Repeat for Other Units:

a. If there are multiple units that require firmware updates, repeat the process for each unit individually.

b. Keep track of the updated firmware versions for each unit.

6. Save Project to Central Unit:

a. After completing the firmware updates for all units, it is crucial to save the project to the central unit.

b. Use the "Save to Central Unit" option in the Main Menu of the iDM3 program.

c. This step ensures that the updated firmware configurations are stored on the central unit.

By following these steps, you can successfully perform firmware updates on Central Units and bus devices using the iDM3 software.
