# Pairing & Configuration

## Pairing Controllers with iNELS Wireless Devices

There are two types of controllers in iNELS Wireless:

* **With pairing button**
* **Without pairing button** (older versions, Compatibility Mode required)

### Controllers with a Pairing Button

You can identify them by:

* Pairing symbol printed on the back
* A physical pairing button accessible on the controller

**Location of the pairing button**

* **RF Key** – on the side near button no. 5
* **RFGB (round or sharp)** – press the upper control mandrel (e.g. with paperclip), the battery ejects and reveals the pairing button
* **RFWB** – accessible after removing the controller flap

**Pairing procedure**

1. **Controller into pairing mode**
   * Hold the pairing button **1 s** → controller enters pairing (red LED short blink).
2. **Device into pairing mode**
   * Hold the **PROG** button on the device (time depends on device type, see Table 1).
3. **Assign function**
   * Press the chosen button on the controller with the required number of presses (see Table 2).
4. **Confirm**
   * Briefly press PROG (device) + briefly press pairing (controller).
   * LED blinks = successful pairing.

{% hint style="info" %}
*Tip: Always put the controller into pairing first, then the device.*
{% endhint %}

### Controllers without a Pairing Button

{% hint style="info" %}
(Older models, two possible pairing modes)
{% endhint %}

#### A) Pairing without Compatibility Mode

1. Insert a new battery (or remove >5 s, then insert).
2. While red LED is on (3 s), press & hold button 1 until LED flashes (driver mode).
3. Put device into pairing (PROG 1–3 s).
4. Assign function by pressing controller button the required number of times (Table 2).
5. Confirm with short PROG press and reinsert battery.

#### B) Pairing in Compatibility Mode

1. Remove battery >5 s.
2. Insert battery → red LED on 3 s.
3. While LED on, press and hold buttons **1+2** until LED flashes rapidly (Compatibility Mode).
4. Put device into pairing (PROG 1–3 s).
5. Assign switching functions to devices (1–6, see Table 2).
6. Assign dimming functions to devices (1-8 see Table 3).
7. Confirm by briefly pressing PROG.

{% hint style="info" %}
*Switching between modes is possible — fast flashing = Compatibility, double flash = Normal.*
{% endhint %}

## Clearing Memory

* **Single button/channel only** – Hold PROG **5–7 s** (device type dependent), then press the controller button to unpair.
* **Whole device** – Hold PROG **8–11 s** (see Table 1). Device stays in pairing mode, all buttons cleared.

#### Table 1: PROG Button Holding Times

| **Device Type**               | **Press PROG for…** | **Function**                             |
| ----------------------------- | ------------------- | ---------------------------------------- |
| Switching / Dimming units     | **2-5 s**           | Pairing mode                             |
| Shutter controllers           | **2-5 s**           | Pairing mode                             |
| Multi-channel / special units | **3-5 s**           | Pairing mode                             |
| Any device                    | **5–7 s**           | Erase paired button (single channel)     |
| Any device                    | **8–11 s**          | Erase **all** controllers (clear memory) |
| Any device                    | **>12 s**           | Restore factory settings                 |
