# RF Touch-2

RF Touch-2/BE and RF Touch-2/BR — flush-mounted wireless touch unit with a 4 inch colour display that also works as a gateway to the app and the cloud.

*Part 3 — Unit reference · System units.*

The **RF Touch-2** is a wireless touch unit with a 4 inch colour display that you fit into an installation box. You use it to control **switching, dimming and blind units and heating** in the iNELS Wireless system, by hand or automatically.

It is also a **gateway**: besides direct control on the display, it connects the system to the **iNELS app** and to the **iNELS Cloud**. Units that you have already paired by hand keep working on their own; you add them to the RF Touch-2 to control them from here, from the app and in its automatic functions. See [Adding paired devices to a gateway](/inels-home/inels-wireless/devices/system-units/adding-paired-devices-to-a-gateway.md).

## What it does

* **Controls** switching, dimming and blind units and heating units, from the display.
* **Gateway.** Connects the system to the iNELS app and the iNELS Cloud.
* **Automatic functions that also work without a local network:** heating modes, timers, light scenes and leaving buttons.
* **Heating.** The built-in temperature sensor can be used in temperature plans and modes (see *Internal temperature sensor* below). Temperature plans and modes are set in the iNELS app.
* **Display lights up** without touching when your hand comes near (proximity sensor).

## Connect the power

Choose **one** of three ways:

| Way | How                                         | Versions |
| --- | ------------------------------------------- | -------- |
| A | LAN cable for network and passive PoE power | BE only |
| B   | 10–30 V DC on the screwless terminals       | BE, BR   |
| C   | 5 V through the USB-C connector             | BE, BR   |

{% hint style="warning" %}
Installation and connection must be done by a person with the right qualification, with the supply switched off. Do not put the unit down on conductive surfaces and keep liquids away from it.
{% endhint %}

Keep at least **1 m** between the RF Touch-2 and the wireless units it communicates with.

## First start

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

### Start the settings

After you connect the power, the first screen appears. Press **START WITH SETTINGS**.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Choose the language

Select the menu language and press continue.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Connect to Wi-Fi

Press **YES** to connect the unit to a Wi-Fi network — this makes the setup easier. Press **Enable Wi-Fi**, set **Mode: Client** and go to **Connection Settings**. Select your network, enter the password and press **SAVE**. Press the back button, then **CONTINUE**.

If you press **NO**: on the BE version, to communicate with the unit over a local network, follow step 9 of the manual; to use the unit only locally with limited functions, follow step 8.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Reach the default menu

You are now in the default menu of the unit. Either continue the full setup in the **iNELS mobile app** (all changes appear on the unit), or set it up by hand: press the cogwheel and enter the PIN. **The PIN is set to 1111 at the factory.**
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Add rooms

In the **Rooms** menu press **+**, enter the room name and choose an icon. You assign devices to rooms later.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Add devices

In the **Devices** menu press **+**. Enter:

1. the **name**,
2. the **address** — an **8-digit number printed on the device body**,
3. the **device type**, for example RFSAI-61B-SL,
4. an **icon**,

then press **SAVE**.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

### Internal temperature sensor

The built-in temperature sensor is added to a temperature circuit with the **virtual RF address AAAAAA** and the device type **RFTI-20**.

### Display settings

Three sliders set the display brightness in active mode (%), the brightness in power-saving mode (%), and the time in seconds before the display changes from active to power-saving mode.

### Wi-Fi settings

You can change the Wi-Fi connection at any time, with the same steps as in the first start.

## Service settings in the web interface

Until the RF Touch-2 is connected to your local network, it broadcasts its **own Wi-Fi network**.

| Item                         | Value         |
| ---------------------------- | ------------- |
| Wi-Fi name (SSID)            | RF-Touch-Wifi |
| Wi-Fi password               | 00000000      |
| Address of the web interface | 192.168.1.2   |
| Login                        | admin         |
| Password                     | elkoep        |

In the service interface you can change these settings, save and restore a backup of the configuration, and update the firmware.

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Update the firmware before the first setup** (section FW Update). The current file is **RF-TOUCH\_v6.0.000.40.tfw**. If your unit has version beta.12 or lower, first install **RF-TOUCH\_v6.0.000-beta.13\_BT8\_fix.tfw**, and only then the current firmware. Both files are on the product page, under *RF-TOUCH firmware fix*.
{% endhint %}

## Programming card

The RF Touch-2 has **no PROG button**. Units are not paired to it by button counting; you **add** them in the Devices menu with their address (see above). Hand-paired units keep their own pairing.

## Troubleshooting

| ------------------------------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Odd behaviour or missing functions after start-up | Update the firmware first (see the hint above) |
| You cannot reach the service web interface | Join the unit's own Wi-Fi (it is broadcast until the unit is on your network) and open 192.168.1.2 |
| No local network available | The unit still works locally with limited functions: heating modes, timers, light scenes, leaving buttons |
| You want a LAN cable connection | Only the **BE** version has the LAN connection |
| A unit is not reached | Keep at least 1 m between the RF Touch-2 and the unit; open-space range is up to 200 m. Add an [RFRP-20N repeater](/inels-home/inels-wireless/devices/system-units/rfrp-20n-repeater.md) if needed |
