# Receivers

Everything that switches, dims or moves a load in iNELS Wireless — relays, dimmers, shutter and fan-coil units.

*Part 3 — Unit reference.*

A **receiver** (actuator) does the work: it switches a light, dims it, moves a shutter, controls a fan coil. It listens to the transmitters it has been paired with and does what the **number of presses** chose when you paired ([Appendix B](/inels-home/inels-wireless/appendix-b-functions-by-number-of-presses.md)).

## What every receiver has in common

* It is **wired** to the supply and the load (or powered from the battery, for valve heads).
* It has one **PROG button** that does everything: manual control, programming and clearing. How long you hold it matters, and **differs per unit** — see [Appendix A](/inels-home/inels-wireless/appendix-a-prog-button-times.md).
* It holds the **memory of paired buttons** (for example 25 on the RFSAI-61B-SL).
* The **LED** shows the mode it is in — see [How programming works](/inels-home/inels-wireless/how-programming-works.md).
* It also has an **address** (printed on the unit) that a [gateway](/inels-home/inels-wireless/devices/system-units.md) uses to add it to the app — see [Adding paired devices to a gateway](/inels-home/inels-wireless/devices/system-units/adding-paired-devices-to-a-gateway.md).
* To pair one: [Tutorial 1](/inels-home/inels-wireless/tutorial-1-your-first-button-and-light.md) (switch), [Tutorial 3](/inels-home/inels-wireless/tutorial-3-dimming-and-light-scenes.md) (dimmer), [Tutorial 4](/inels-home/inels-wireless/tutorial-4-blinds-and-shutters.md) (shutter).
