Your dashboard

The page most front desks leave open all day.

The dashboard answers the four questions the front desk is asked most: who is arriving, who is leaving, which rooms are free, and what needs attention right now.

You land here automatically when you sign in at http://<your-server>:82.

Arriving today and Departing today

Two lists, each showing the room, the guest's name, the booking status and the dates.

Work down the arrivals list at the start of a shift. Are those rooms clean? Is anything special requested? Does anyone need an early check-in?

Check departures out as they happen, not in a batch at noon — that is what releases the room and tells housekeeping to go and clean it.

The room board

Every room as a tile, with two views:

Each room shows its number, type, current status and the guest's name. Filter by floor, or by status — Checked in, Confirmed, Free.

Use the search box to jump straight to one room.

The same rooms against a date. Move with <, Today and >, or pick a date directly.

This is how you answer "do you have anything for the 14th?" without opening the reservation list at all.

Service requests

Live alerts from the rooms — Do Not Disturb, Make Up Room and Butler calls, newest first, each with the room number and the time.

See Service requests for what each one means and what to do about it.

The two shortcuts

  • New reservation — straight into the booking wizard. See Taking a booking.

  • Room controls — the full room grid, where you can adjust heating and lighting. See Controlling a room.

A shift, from the dashboard

1

Start of shift

Read arrivals and departures. Check service requests for anything left unacknowledged overnight.

2

As guests arrive

Find them in Arriving today, check them in, issue the card. The board updates as you go.

3

As guests leave

Check each one out the moment they hand the key back. Housekeeping is waiting on it.

4

Through the day

Watch the bell. Butler calls keep repeating until somebody acknowledges them.

5

Enquiries

Use the calendar view for availability questions — it is much faster than the reservation list.
