# Today's tasks

For cleaners — the phone app, start to finish.

The housekeeping app is made for a phone carried around the hotel. It does one thing: it shows you the rooms you need to clean, and lets you say when each one is done.

## Getting in

Open `http://<your-server>:83` on your phone and sign in with the account your manager gave you.

{% hint style="success" %}
**Add it to your home screen** and it opens like a normal app, without the browser bars. On iPhone use Share → Add to Home Screen; on Android use the menu → Add to Home screen.
{% endhint %}

## Your list

After signing in you see **Today's tasks** — one card per room, with the most urgent at the top. Each card shows:

* the **room number**, in large type
* the **kind of clean** it needs
* the **floor**, and whether the task is pending or already started
* any **note** the manager left

The list includes tasks assigned to you **and** tasks nobody has been given yet, so an unclaimed room never sits waiting.

## The five kinds of task

| Task                | Means                                                                   |
| ------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **MUR — urgent** | The guest pressed Make Up Room and is waiting. Do these first. |
| **Departure clean** | The guest has checked out. The room must be ready for the next arrival. |
| **Stayover** | The guest is still staying — the lighter daily service |
| **Inspection** | A check of a room that has already been cleaned |
| **Manual task** | Something the manager added by hand — read the note |

## Working a room

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

#### Tap Start when you go in

The room shows as in progress, so nobody else duplicates your work and the front desk knows it is being dealt with.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Clean the room

{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Tap Done when you leave

You are offered a note. Use it for anything the hotel should know — a broken lamp, a missing towel, a stain that needs a specialist.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

### If you cannot clean it

Tap **Skip** and say why in the note: "Do Not Disturb still on", "guest inside", "door would not open". Your manager sees skipped rooms on the board and can reschedule them.

## Filtering the list

The drop-down at the top narrows what you see:

* **Open** — everything still to do. The normal setting.
* **Pending only** — not started yet
* **In progress** — what you have started
* **Done today** — your finished work, to check nothing was missed

**Details** on a card opens a bigger view of that one room, with the same Start, Done and Skip buttons in a larger size.

## Four habits worth having

{% hint style="success" %}

* **Press Start when you enter**, not at the end — that is what tells reception the room is being worked on right now.
* **Do MUR rooms first.** A guest asked for them and is waiting.
* **Use the note field.** It is the fastest way to report a maintenance problem, and it goes straight to your manager.
* **Log out on a shared phone**, so the next person's work is not recorded under your name.
  {% endhint %}

{% hint style="info" %}
**Marking a MUR room done turns the lamp off in the room.** If it is still lit after you press Done, tell your manager — it usually means that room needs checking.
{% endhint %}
