Today's operations

Arrivals, departures and stayovers — the shape of the day

DND / MUR (24h)

How many service signals came in. A sudden jump usually has a cause.

Current occupancy

How full the hotel is right now

Housekeeping today

Tasks created, done and outstanding

Staff performance (today)

What each housekeeper has completed

Using them through the day

Today's operations tells you how many rooms must turn over, and therefore how many cleaners you need on the floors.

Current occupancy tells the restaurant what to expect at breakfast.

Housekeeping today — if the outstanding count is not falling by late morning, act before the afternoon arrivals rather than after.

DND / MUR — an unusual number of MUR calls on one floor often means a round was missed.

Staff performance — look at the pattern over weeks, not one day. Consistent differences usually reflect the rooms people are given rather than the people.

These are live figures, not a saved snapshot. For a report that lands at a fixed time each morning, set up a scheduled email instead.

When a number looks wrong

Three usual explanations

Occupancy looks too low — bookings exist but were never checked in. The figure counts checked-in rooms, not bookings.

Departures spike at noon — check-outs are being recorded in a batch rather than as guests leave.

Housekeeping shows no tasks — either nobody has checked out yet today, or automatic task creation is not working.
