# Signing in

Three addresses, one set of accounts, and what to change on day one.

Harmony has **one set of accounts shared by all three apps**. Which app you end up in is decided by your role, not by the address you typed.

## The three addresses

| App            | Address                   | Who lands here |
| -------------- | ------------------------- | -------------- |
| Administration | `http://<your-server>:81` | Admin, Manager |
| Reception      | `http://<your-server>:82` | Receptionist   |
| Housekeeping   | `http://<your-server>:83` | Housekeeping   |

Replace `<your-server>` with the address your installer gave you — something like `http://10.10.20.5:81`.

{% hint style="success" %}
**Bookmark one address and forget the rest.** If a receptionist opens the Administration address by mistake, Harmony redirects them to Reception automatically.
{% endhint %}

## Your first sign-in

A brand-new installation ships with a single account so that somebody can get in:

| Field    | Value               |
| -------- | ------------------- |
| Email    | `admin@hotel.local` |
| Password | `harmony`           |
| Role     | Admin               |

{% hint style="danger" %}
**Change this before the server is reachable by anyone else.** These credentials are identical on every Harmony installation in the world, so they are the first thing an intruder would try.
{% endhint %}

## Change the default password

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

#### Sign in to Administration

Go to `http://<your-server>:81` and use the default credentials above.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Open Users

It is in the left sidebar. The page is admin-only, so you will only see it while signed in as an Admin.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Edit the Administrator account

Click the pencil icon in its row.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Set a real password and a real email

Use an address the hotel actually controls — password resets and notifications depend on it.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Save, then sign out and back in

Confirm the new password works before you walk away from the machine.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

## Where each role lands

| Role         | Lands on                     |
| ------------ | ---------------------------- |
| Admin        | Administration → Gateways    |
| Manager      | Administration → Reports     |
| Receptionist | Reception → Dashboard        |
| Housekeeping | Housekeeping → Today's tasks |

## If you cannot get in

<details>

<summary>"Invalid credentials"</summary>

Check for a trailing space in the email address, and that Caps Lock is off. Then ask an administrator whether your account is still marked **Active** in **Users** — a deactivated account gives exactly this message.

</details>

<details>

<summary>The page does not load at all</summary>

That is the server or the network, not your account. Ask whoever looks after the system to check **Administration → Server**.

</details>

<details>

<summary>You are bounced straight back to the login page</summary>

Your role has no access to that app. Use the address for your own role from the table above.

</details>

<details>

<summary>It works from one computer but not another</summary>

The hotel may have restricted access by IP address. An administrator can check the allow list in **Settings → Security**.
