# Automations

Configure automation rules to define system behavior. Before creating automation, ensure that control objects such as Bits, Integers, or API points are available. These represent devices and actions within the system.

Once the required objects are available, automation rules can be created to control system behavior. For example, activating a Welcome Scene during check-in or switching a room to Energy Saving Mode during check-out.

The system provides real-time notifications for events such as Do Not Disturb (DND), cleaning requests, and service calls.

In the Settings tab, configure the hotel name, check-in and check-out times, and network settings.

In the Linux section, manage system updates, reboot the system, and configure network settings.

After setup, verify that all rooms, devices, and gateways are correctly connected and operational in the Dashboard Overview page.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://wiki.inels.com/inels-harmony/automations.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
