Step 2 · Staff accounts

Create the logins your reception, housekeeping and management team will use.

Do this early, before the hardware work. People can start learning their own app while you finish wiring, and nobody interrupts you later asking for a login.

Go to Users. The page is admin-only.

Add an account

1

Click Add user

2

Name

The person's real name, as it should appear on assigned cleaning tasks and in the event log. "Marie Nováková", not "housekeeping 2".

3

Role

One of Admin, Manager, Receptionist or Housekeeping. If you are unsure, read Who does what first — this single choice decides which app they can open.

4

Email

This is the username they sign in with, so it must be unique. A real address beats an invented one.

5

Password

Set a temporary one and ask the person to change it. Passwords are stored hashed — nobody, including you, can read one back later.

6

Click Add

The account works immediately.

Pencil to edit, bin to delete

Editing an account

Click the pencil. You can change name, role, email and active state.

The password field in the edit dialog behaves differently from the one in add: leave it blank to keep the current password. Type in it only when you actually mean to reset it.

When somebody leaves

Delete an account only if it was created by mistake and never used.

Password advice worth passing to the hotel

  • Twelve characters or more — length beats complexity

  • Never reuse the front-desk password anywhere else

  • One account per person, never a shared login

  • Change the default admin@hotel.local password on day one if you have not already
