To integrate Home Assistant with iNELS devices, you'll need to follow a detailed process that involves configuring your iDM3 interface, setting up MQTT, and adding the appropriate repository and integration to Home Assistant. Here’s a step-by-step guide:
a. Unit and Parameter Selection:
Begin by accessing the iDM3 interface on your PC connected to miniCU.
Navigate to the Device Manager section and carefully select the units and parameters you wish to control. This step is essential for determining to control with 3rd party.
b. CU Configuration and Third-Party Settings :
After the above step, go to the CU configuration in the iDM3, and select the page for third-party settings.
Inside the third-party settings page, designate the port for MQTT setting. Set the mode of operation and choose the numerical system as hexadecimal. Pay close attention to verifying and configuring all essential parameters for successful export.
3. MQTT Settings:
Move on to the MQTT Settings section within iDM3.
Set the Mode to ‘Connect’.
Enter the IP Address, Port (default is 1883), and the username and password of your MQTT broker.
Save the project to the central unit.
After saving, use MQTT Explorer to verify the settings.
Ensure that the predefined topics are visible.
Check the status of the payloads to confirm correct configuration.
a. Add custom repository to Home Assistant in INELS Bridge
See the following link and follow from to add custom repository
Open custom repositories in the top right corner
Open custom repositories again and enter the address https://github.com/epdevlab/elkoep-hacs in the "Repository" field.
In the "Category" field, select "Integration" and press the add button.
Add the new integration. In the bottom right corner, there is a "Download" button. Download the new integration.
After downloading the integration, restart Home Assistant
Now go to settings -> Devices and services -> Add Integration -> iNELS
Enter the Broker details here
All the iNELS devices connected to the MQTT Broker will automatically appear in the device list.
Following these steps will enable you to control and monitor your iNELS devices through Home Assistant, leveraging the MQTT protocol for seamless communication between your iNELS system and Home Assistant.
